Judge Orders Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy to Stop Spying — Report

An alum of three reality shows and now the host of her own talk show, Bethenny Frankel is used to having her life taped but now, in the midst of a messy divorce with soon-to-be ex-husband Jason Hoppy, a judge has strictly prohibited either party from recording the other.

The demand apparently doesn’t come without good reason. Sources tell TMZ that since the couple’s separation in January, Jason has been secretly recording Bethenny, both on video and audio. The reality star has also reportedly recorded the Skinny Girl staff when they’ve worked out of Bethenny’s home office and gone through their emails. Bethenny, on the other hand, has reportedly never recorded Jason.

Whether Jason’s snooping is in order to build a case for custody of the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Bryn, or simply help speed along the drawn out divorce, the judge isn’t having any of his Watergate-eque behavior.

Both parties have been prohibited from using tape recorders, cell phones or computers to record each other or their nanny. The couple has also been forbidden to intercept each other’s emails. The judge has also reportedly ordered Bethenny and Jason to turn over any recordings they have by October 15. Should be an interesting crop of footage!

Hopefully the new restrictions will calm Bethenny, who recently admitted that it’s been “difficult to stay sane” and that she is going through a “brutal time.” Do you think the judge made a wise decision? Sound off in the comments below.
