Julia Roberts might surprise many an Academy Awards viewer this Sunday, March 2, as she attends Hollywood's biggest event — she's a blonde again!
The 46-year-old is famous in part for her usually-auburn hair, which has probably inspired many fans of hers to search for her exact shade in the hair dye aisle. In actuality, Julia admits, her hair is naturally dark blond.
But as you can see in images like these, she's sporting a bright, Witherspoon-esque blond shade — not platinum, but close.
Julia has sported blond hair for multiple roles — most notably in her Academy Award-winning role as the titular spunky lawyer in Erin Brockovich but also as she played a soul-searching woman in Eat Pray Love, a partner-swapping photographer in Closer, a family man's new girlfriend in Stepmom, and a politically-minded Texas socialite in Charlie Wilson's War.
The role for which she's Oscar-nominated this year, though, might have featured her boldest hair choice yet — she allowed gray roots to show through her beleaguered character's brown hair in August: Osage County.
It looks like this dye job is a personal choice, though — her IMDb filmography shows no projects in production or even pre-production. Maybe she's of the "blondes have more fun" school of thought!
