Don’t expect to see Julianne Hough back on Dancing With the Stars anytime soon — she’s too busy booking more film roles.

Julianne mentioned the Diablo Cody (Juno) film Paradise while filling in on Season 17, Week 4, and now she’s set to star in a “micro-budget horror-thriller” called Curve.

According to The Wrap, Julianne will play a young bride-to-be who is trapped in her overturned car off a deserted highway. Apparently she crashed it in an attempt to escape a charming, predatory hitchhiker played by Teddy Sears of Showtime’s Masters of Sex.

Universal Pictures will distribute Curve, which is being directed by Iain Softley (The Wings of the Dove, The Skeleton Key, Inkheart). It’s being produced by Jason Blum of the recent horror hits Insidious and The Purge.

IMDB currently has Curve in “pre-production,” but we’ll keep an eye on it to see who else is cast and any other production news.

After winning DWTS twice as a pro dancer, Julianne had a small role in Burlesque, then larger roles in Footloose, Rock of Ages, Safe Haven, and now Paradise and Curve. She's on her way up!
