Julie Plec Remembers Cory Monteith One Year After His Death

The one-year anniversary of Cory Monteith’s heartbreaking death just passed this Sunday, and while the late actor’s family and Glee co-stars have been sharing fond memories of their fallen friend — and now Julie Plec is weighing in on her former TV pal.

“I met Cory Monteith the day he auditioned for Kyle XY for a part in the first script I ever wrote as a legit tv writer. He was exactly who I had envisioned in the role. He got the part. During the next season he shared his story with me and I was so impressed by him,” the Vampire Diaries showrunner wrote. “1 year ago I got a text from @MagdaEh with the sad news of his passing. I sent blessings to him then and now. He was a good kid. Sending positive thoughts to those who knew and loved him. I’m enjoying remembering him tonight.”

We definitely feel for Julie, as she’s not only had to deal with Cory’s passing but also the tragic death of Sarah Jones, a former second camera assistant for TVD. Sarah was killed on the set of a movie, and now the filmmakers are being held responsible and have been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection to the accident.

In somewhat happier news, Lea Michele treated fans to a very befitting tribute to her former love by sharing a never-before-seen photo of the two lovebirds together.

It’s clear that everyone connected to Cory was touched by his life and is still working through his passing. It’s so sweet to see this big ol’ TV family coming together to remember such a great guy.
