Jurnee Smollett Headed to NBC’s Parenthood For Major Recurring Role
Once again, Parenthood showrunner Jason Katims is dipping into his old Friday Night Lights — and current True Blood cast — to fill a major arc on the NBC family drama.
Jason is bringing in Jurnee Smollett-Bell to lend a hand on the fabulous drama for its upcoming fifth season. We're banking on this Dillon grad will shine brightly on this gem of a show.
Jurnee will play Heather Hall, who is described as a smart, feisty, up-and-coming political maven, who Kristina (Monica Potter) hires to be her campaign manager. Didn't you already hear? Kristina is running for local office, y'all! She's already kicked cancer in the butt and now she's putting herself out there!
We're starting to wonder if Parenthood is becoming a ritual for previous Friday Night Lights stars, since Matt Lauria, Minka Kelly, Michael B. Jordan, Derek Phillips, Angela Rawna, and Jeff Rosick have ALL appeared on the show before.
You know what they say, clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose!
Parenthood returns for its 22-episode fifth season on Thursday, September 26 at 10 p.m. EST.
