Justin Bieber on Selena Gomez Relationship: “It Was a Marriage Kind of Thing”
Just a few days after Selena made a favorable comment about her ex-boyfriend’s comeback, saying it was “what I always saw in him,” Justin is returning the favor. In a new interview with Complex magazine, JB discusses the good and bad aspects of his on-again-off-again relationship with the former Disney star, which lasted from 2010-2014.
"We were so in love. Nothing else mattered. We were all about each other," he says in the October 2015 issue. "But when it's like that and you get your value from that, people will always disappoint you."
The Biebs even admits "my identity was in her, her identity was in me." Considering everyone from fans to media referred to them as Jelena rather than by their individual names when they were dating, we’d say that’s a pretty accurate statement.
As for the bad stuff from their relationship? The 21-year-old reveals he and Sel went way too fast, especially considering how young they were when they were together.
“I moved in with my girlfriend when I was 18. Started my own life with her,” he says. “It was a marriage kind of thing. Living with a girl, it was just too much at that age. When stuff would happen, I would lose my freakin’ mind, and she would lose her mind, and we would fight so hard because we were so invested in each other."
But let’s not allow all this #Jelena nostalgia to overshadow the most important stuff here: the music. Justin’s new album comes out on November 13, just a few weeks after Selena’s Revival debuts on October 9.
This is going to be the best battle of the exes ever!
