Update (6:35 p.m. ET):

Justin’s now headed to Twitter where he shared the following message with his fans (warning: extreme use of the caps lock key ahead):

YOU ARE ALL WORTHY NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS >> BE STRONG GOD IS WITH US ALL> MY BELIEBERS CHANGED MY LIFE> I WILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL.”

He then proceeded to retweet encouraging messages from his followers. Unfortunately for the Biebs, it’s unlikely RTs will stand up in a court of law.

Original story (3:23 p.m. ET):

Justin Bieber has broken his silence after his DUI arrest yesterday (January 23) and he took the opportunity to compare himself to the King of Pop.

A side-by-side photo shared via Justin’s Instagram shows the 19-year-old leaving custody at Miami-Dade County Jail and waving to his masses of fans from the top of a car. On the right of the image, MJ also waves to fans from the roof of a vehicle. Michael, however, wasn’t arrested for charges like the Biebs. Nope, this time a decade ago he was standing trial for seven felony counts of child molestation.

Justin also references another icon in the photo’s caption: “‘What more can they say,’” he writes, a quote from Jay Z’s 2003 The Black Album, claims MTV News.

Whether Justin meant to mirror Michael in his exit yesterday or if it was just a coincidence, only the Biebs know. He’s kept off Twitter since everything went down, though his manager, Scooter Braun, and his father, Jeremy Bieber, have both tweeted to show their support for Justin.

Fans are also coming out en masse to support Justin’s first post-arrest post. As of publishing, more than 500,000 liked the Michael Jackson pic on Justin’s profile.
