As soon as we first heard about Justin Bieber’s arrest, we immediately wondered what Scooter Braun, Justin’s longtime manager and guardian angel would think — and how much damage control he’d inevitably have to do. Thursday, Scooter finally broke his silence on Twitter to send Justin a heartfelt message of his support.

“Love you and I will act in the manner of someone who truly cares,” Scooter tweeted. “That is all I have to say. Thanks for all those concerned.”

Fingers crossed that acting “in the manner of someone who truly cares” includes getting Justin some help. Driving drunk is a good way to endanger the lives of many different people all at once, and Justin should consider himself lucky that a few hours in jail is how the story ended this time.

“Been a long day,” Scooter later added. “Bottom line is we are defined by how we handle adversity. Be there when it counts. Love fully in good times and bad.”

In the early hours of Thursday morning, Justin was arrested in Miami Beach and charged with a DUI, driving with an expired license, and resisting arrest without violence. Later that afternoon, Justin was released on a $2,500 bail after standing before a judge.

For Justin’s sake, we hope Scooter’s got a bit more up his sleeve than a few inspirational tweets.
