Was anyone else surprised at how quiet Justin Bieber’s 20th birthday seems to have been? Because we here at Wetpaint Entertainment were braced for a celebration of such epic proportions it would dominate the headlines for weeks.
But for whatever reason — maybe Miami shook him up more than it seemed? — the Biebs decided to keep March 1 toned down. TMZ reports Justin waved goodbye to his teenage years from the tropics, the Bahamas to be exact.
Joined by family and friends, Justin reportedly dropped tens of thousands of dollars to celebrate his 20th at The Cove, a five-star all-inclusive resort on the secluded island of Eleuthera, about 50 miles east of Bahamian capital Nassau. On the guest list were Justin’s mom, his dad, and friends like Lil Za and Khalil (names that may seem familiar for their recent notoriety in relation to a certain egg raid and an alleged drag race).
Justin arrived at The Cove in style, sailing in on a private yacht after flying to the Bahamas on February 28. The group ended their weekend with a picnic on the beach. How unexpectedly quaint, right? Right until we learned each villa supposedly goes for $4,275 a night and comes with perks like a private pool and butler. Not that we’d expect anything less for the Biebs. In fact, we expected much, much more.
What do you make of Justin’s toned down birthday celebration? Think there’s still more to come or maybe he’s turned over a new leaf for his new year? Hit the comments!
