Justin Bieber may have a huge reason to celebrate this week. TMZ reports the 20-year-old pop star might have scored himself a pretty cushy plea deal related to that January 23 arrest in Miami Beach. You know, the one where he was charged with DUI, resisting arrest, and driving with an expired license?
Unidentified sources TMZ says are “familiar with the case” claim Justin’s crack team of lawyers may have swung a deal with prosecutors that will result in Bieber pleading no contest to reckless driving and having the three charges dropped. Dropped! As in, goodbye, adios, good to see you, let’s forget this ever happened.
The even sweeter part of the deal for Justin? The prosecution team has supposedly backed off their request for random drug testing.
Still, Justin wouldn’t be totally off the hook. He’d be on probation for a year so he couldn’t get too crazy (or at least get caught getting too crazy).
There’s no date on when this all could be finalized — TMZ’s just heard within “days” — but if it goes through, it would likely be welcome news for the misbehaving pop prince. Also, a lesson to us all that it pays to have good lawyers.
