Former Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star K. Michelle has been pretty busy as of late, which may (or may not) explain her lack of screen time on the New York franchise of the Mona Scott Young hit VH1 production. K. Michelle confirmed that she’s leaving the Love & Hip Hop world for her own TV show, No New Friends, but that’s not all. The “V.S.O.P” singer has just revealed that she’s turning her hit album, Rebellious Soul, into a musical!
During an interview on The Morning Madhouse radio show, K. Michelle dished on the new Rebellious Soul project which, she’s described as “a female ‘Trapped in the Closet.’” Honestly, if it’s anything like R. Kelly’s famed musical series, we’re down — especially since it’s being directed by none other than Idris Elba.
We know. We’re out of our mind with jealousy too.
According to Kay, she and Idris will begin shooting the musical in Africa in a few weeks and the finish product will air on VH1. We might even get to see some behind-the-scenes moments of the two working together as her new reality series begins filming February 10.
But that’s not all Kay has planned. The single mom, who just finished headlining her own tour, is joining Robin Thicke on the road and she’s pretty excited about it.
“I didn’t even know he knew me,” she gabbed, before promising that there will be no twerking with Robin on tour.
“I don’t need Paula [Patton] coming for me too, so there will be no twerking!” she joked, adding, “You have my word.”
Thank goodness for that!
