Kailyn Lowry Makes Controversial Parenting Decision — Do You Agree With Her?
Much like a moth turning into a butterfly, Kailyn Lowry has transformed from a sweatpants-wearing teenager with dermal piercings into a total earth mother. Basically, she's kind of a hippie, and we're loving every minute of it.
Kailyn's all about being the best mom she can be to her sons, Isaac and Lincoln, but she's made a few controversial parenting decisions when it comes to Lil' Linc. First, she encapsulated and ate her placenta (delicious!), and now she's made the bold decision to delay solids and rely completely on breast milk for the first year on Lincoln's life!
"Food before 1 is just for fun," she tweeted on April 29. "Delaying solids!"
Kailyn's a huge proponent of breastfeeding, which is extremely nutritious for infants and goes a long way in boosting their immunity. However, solid food is important once babies need additional sources of nutrition, and the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that babies start solids at six months.
That being said, every pediatrician is different, and some doctors believe that breast milk alone is enough to keep an infant perfectly full and happy for their first year of life. It could even be better for their stomachs!
We're sure Kailyn knows what she's doing when it comes to Lincoln's health and happiness, but are you surprised that she's delaying solids? Let us know below!
