The drama is far from over on the Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 6 reunion. The three-part reunion started with the Porsha Williams vs. Kenya Moore brawl, and tonight, May 4, brought the conclusion, which included a confrontation between Kandi Burruss and NeNe Leakes.
Kandi got heated with NeNe, who was sitting next to her on the couch, when referencing something NeNe wrote in her Bravo blog in February, when Kandi was surprised that NeNe walked away from a fight with Marlo Hampton.
("Kandi, you have never seen me walk away from a fight and you have never seen me physically fight either have you?” NeNe wrote at the time. “My son was at this event, and as much as I would like to be Mama Joyce and take my shoe off and hit somebody or drag someone down the street, I would never stoop so low to the gutter with my son around, so you are right!")
Here's a portion of the reunion confrontation:
Kandi [to NeNe]: "I try to keep everybody at a certain level of respect even if I don't, you know, necessarily care the most for you. I try not to speak on your kids, your parents, your husband, and I try not to address anything that hasn't been talked about on the show. But you do it all the time."
Kandi: "Yes, you do. And in that instance, that sh-t pissed me off."
NeNe calmly asked what Kandi wanted her to do about it. Kandi said she could've apologized.
NeNe [raising her voice]: "I just told you that's how I felt. That's how I felt!"
Kandi: "So you're trying to say my mom is low in the gutter?
NeNe: "Did I say she was low in the gutter? Did I write she was low in the gutter?"
Kandi [speaking over NeNe]: "You said you would not stoop so low like Mama Joyce to be in the gutter!"
NeNe said she would not stoop so low as to throw a shoe or drag someone, like Joyce. The fight went on and got louder, and you can watch it play out. Even Andy Cohen wondered if NeNe could just apologize for her comment.
NeNe: "I don't feel like I was being disrespectful."
Kandi: "You don't ever feel like you're doing nothing, that's the point!"
Cynthia Bailey's name also got thrown in there at one point, referencing how NeNe can dish it out but not take it. But ultimately NeNe just repeated, "I said what I said, and I'm not changing on it."
Where do you stand on this? Mama Joyce is not exactly a prime example of class and virtue, but who can blame Kandi for standing up for her mother? Do you blame NeNe for not apologizing in some form, for being disrespectful to a fellow Housewife's mom, or do you respect how NeNe didn't back down from her opinion?
