This week on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kandi Burruss got a lot of grief for the way she handled Mama Joyce's treatment of Todd. When Kandi first admitted to her fiancé that her mother wasn't feeling him, she kept laughing. Needless to say, Todd was not amused and felt that Kandi should stand up to Mama Joyce for him.

Far and wide, her fans agreed with Todd and encouraged Kandi to take the situation more seriously. Kandi explained that she has a nervous laugh and that's why she was giggling during the awkward dinner with Todd.

Later, she took to her Bravo blog to defend herself, claiming that she does stand up to Mama Joyce — she just does it her own way, without completely disrespecting her mother.

"Everyone says stand up to your mama and blah, blah, blah, but believe it or not I do speak my mind to my mother. I just don’t say it in some crazy disrespectful way, because she is my mother," Kandi wrote, adding, "So to everyone who is screaming at me through the TV screen to 'do something about my mom,' I’m not sure exactly what you expect me to do. I can only say how I feel, and if she doesn’t listen to me, then what?"

As far as cutting Mama off completely, like her friend Carmen suggested, Kandi shared, "I don’t believe in cutting off your relationship with your mom. So for now I’m just hoping that over time things will work out for the best."

Do you think Kandi is doing the right thing or should she be more aggressive with her mother? Sound off in the comments below!
