Kansas Farm Homicides: Young Mother Among Victims, 18-Month-Old Daughter ‘Presumed Dead’ (UPDATE)
May 13 Update: Sadly, an Osage County deputy reports that a body has been found in a neighboring county, and although the body has yet to be identified, it is believed to be 18-month-old Lana Leigh Bailey. "The family needed to have this so they can move on," Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards said at a news conference on Sunday. "This helps bring some closure to them. It helps bring closure to all of this investigative team. A crime like this takes an emotional toll, especially when it's a child."
The bodies of Andrew Stout, Steven White, and young mother 21-year-old Kaylie Bailey were found on the farm’s property after some friends of Stout’s visited the property after not hearing from him for several days. Police have not yet provided the cause of death.
Cadaver dogs were brought in to search the farm for other deceased individuals, but so far just the three have been discovered.
Tragically, Franklin County Sheriff Jeffrey Richards announced in a news conference that Kaylie’s 18-month-old daughter Lana is “presumed dead,” although no body has been discovered.
"Information developed overnight indicates that Lana is presumed to be a victim of homicide," Richards said. "Finding Lana is a top priority for our investigators. We will exhaust every lead and follow up every tip until we bring her home."
