Kim Kardashian is going to be giving birth in the not-too-distant future, and we’ve heard a lot about her thoughts on motherhood over the last eight months. But what about baby daddy Kanye West?
Since his super-excited on-stage announcement of Kimmy’s pregnancy back in December, Kanye has been much more tight-lipped about his impending fatherhood. No big shocker there, because media silence is the rapper’s M.O.
When asked for his thoughts on parenthood in a recent New York Times interview, Kanye was still a bit hesitant to talk about his baby girl.
“That is a really interesting, powerful question,” he answered. “One of the things was just to be protective, that I would do anything to protect my child or my child’s mother. As simple as that.”
And that was about as far as he was willing to go. “I don’t want to explain too much into what my thoughts on, you know, fatherhood are, because I’ve not fully developed those thoughts yet,” he said. “I don’t have a kid yet.”
Evidently, it wasn’t just the fact that he’s not a father just yet that kept Kanye from talking too openly about his baby-to-be. As with all things Kanye, he wants to keep his private life as private as possible, and Kimye fans will just have to lump it.
“I just don’t want to talk to America about my family,” he added. “Like, this is my baby. This isn’t America’s baby.”
