Love her or hate her, Miley Cyrus has at least one fellow music icon rooting for her: Kanye West.
In the December issue of Cosmopolitan, bejeweled cover girl Miley talks about her and the music mogul’s collaboration on a remix of his song “Black Skinhead;”
“I mean, who cares what the media buzz is if Kanye West is telling you that you’re the s—t,” she tells the magazine, likely referring to the pep talk Miley says Kanye gave her before that now infamous twerking performance with Robin Thicke at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.
Still, Miley admits, “It’s easy for Kanye to support me because we’re in totally separate lanes of competition.” What resonates even more strongly with the pop star is hearing from fellow lady musicians. “For Katy [Perry] to say that she appreciates what I’m really doing for the pop industry, that keeps you going,” she adds.
Umm, hold the foam finger. Didn’t Katy just give a strongly worded critique of her fellow female pop stars? As the “Teenage Dream” singer recently told NPR, “Like females in pop — everybody’s getting naked. I mean, I’ve been naked before but I don’t feel like I have to always get naked to be noticed.”
Maybe Katy’s comment wasn’t referring to latex bikini fan Miley? Perhaps…
