Kanye West Thanks French Paparazzi: “You’ve Got Total Respect For Yourselves”

Famous foe of the paparazzi Kanye West seems to have developed a newfound respect for photographers — at least those of the Parisian variety — while on his trip to France this week.

Yesterday, September 30, the rapper had a confrontation with a slew of Parisian cameramen that surprisingly didn’t end in a shouting match or a thrown punch.

“Don’t ask questions,” Kanye reportedly told a slew of cameramen trying to take his picture as he got out of his car in Paris. “Just take the video.”

But as Kanye began to notice the photographers’ restraint, he continued, “Don’t do like the L.A. [paparazzi]. I like how you guys, like move out here. You’ve got total respect for yourselves, have respect for the people that you’re photographing. Like, at 8 o’clock, you’re not around peoples’ houses, so, I just really appreciate and respect that.”

Kanye is currently in Paris for the city’s Fashion Week with his lady love Kim Kardashian. The couple left their three-month-old baby North West back home in LA and perhaps its the ability to catch up on sleep that’s left Kanye in such a good mood.

“I understand that you have to make a living,” Kanye said to the photographers during the exchange, actually reaching out to shake one cameraman’s hand. “So I appreciate [the respectfulness].”

Wow — is this the same Kanye who lunged at a particularly irritating cameraman at LAX back in July? Or the one who’s pressing charges against paparazzi in LA for trespassing? Either way, we’re digging this new laid-back Kanye. Maybe he, Kim, and little Nori should consider a move across the pond!
