Kanye West’s over-the-top proposal to Kim Kardashian, it was pretty safe to assume their wedding wouldn’t exactly be subdued. After all, it’s been made clear that since it’s his first time getting married, it’s Kanye’s wedding — Kim’s just living in it. This is a guy who rents out an entire baseball stadium and assembles a full symphony orchestra just to pop the question — so how do you say “I do” after that kind of fanfare?
While we continue to stretch our imaginations to the limit, some details have started to emerge. According to OK! Magazine (via Hollywood Life), the wedding will take place in summer 2014 and the rapper has decided on the Italian island of Capri as the setting. Reportedly, ‘Ye plopped down half a million to rent out the island’s gorgeous Villa San Michele for two weeks, where he will spare no expense on food, decor, and of course fashion for his A-list wedding party.
Actually, we just looked at pictures of the villa, and gorgeous is an understatement. With ancient looking colonnades overlooking an unreal blue sea, this is going to be the wedding to end all weddings. According to sources, that’s exactly what Kanye’s shooting for. Reportedly, his goal is to top the royal wedding.
We hope that doesn’t mean outspending the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge! After the cost of security and transport were factored in, it was estimated Kate and Will’s wedding cost upwards of $32 million (most of which was saddled by British taxpayers).
