But word is Jonathan wasn’t the first pick for the starring role as “The Murder Victim.” In fact, Kanye had set his sights a tad bit higher, requesting the thespian talents of Golden Globe-nominated and one-time Oscar host James Franco.
A Renaissance Man for the modern age, James told GQ, “I was asked to get axed in an American Psycho-themed commercial for Kanye, but instead of getting cut up, I made a cut-up American Psycho piece for him.”
The James of all trades is referring to his most recent craft project: a graffitied copy of Yeezus. GQ sent five copies of the CD to the magazine’s favorite artists (Franco?) with only rule: follow the direction Kanye posted on the cover of Yeezus,“PLEASE ADD GRAFFITI.”
In his take, James went for a marker-heavy sketch reminiscent of the doodles we use to draw during high school chemistry but with more Kanye and fewer bubble hearts.
