Stay classy, Kanye West.
The musician may have only had a cameo role in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, the highly-anticipated sequel to Will Ferrell’s 2004 hit, but, true to form, his presence dominated the time he spent on set. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Will reveals how working with Kim Kardashian’s self-proclaimed genius fiancé ended up making things a bit more difficult for the production staff than they had anticipated.
When Kanye came on set, the excited rapper thought he’d share a little bit of his new music with the cast and crew, giving them a preview of Yeezus before the album was released.
"He was playing it on the set, which was great," says Will. "But then he didn't understand when it had to be turned off, when it was time to film. He was like, ‘Hey, what's going on!' We didn't want Kanye to get upset, but at the same time, we kind of had to film."
Despite the Kanyinterruption, the movie managed to finish filming — and, according to Ferrell, will be the final piece of the Anchorman series.
"It really feels like the last one, where we couldn't even believe they'd given us money to do these ridiculous things," he says. "This one, it's all about making everything even more ridiculous."
