Was he defending his fianceé or determined to fight? Those are the questions attorneys, and possibly a jury, will have to decide when Kanye West answers for his alleged assault on a teenager.

Kanye, who allegedly arrived at a California chiropractor’s office to deliver a beatdown on the mouthy bully at the behest of his baby mama, Kim Kardashian, may have gone a little overboard, even by the seasoned brawler’s standards.

Kanye reportedly dealt the 18-year-old harasser a whopping 30 blows before the two men were kicked out of the office.

L.A. attorney Mychal Wilson tells HollywoodLife that the teen, who is reportedly looking into hiring bulldog attorney Gloria Allred to represent him, may have a good case against Kanye, who will have a difficult time proving he launched the attack solely in self-defense.

“Current facts show that Kanye West arrived at the scene after the alleged assault on Kim Kardashian already occurred,” says Mychal. “While the 18 year old allegedly yelled derogatory names at Kanye while Kim was on the phone with him, Kanye West’s physical contact on the 18 year old exceeded reasonable force and was not in the ‘heat of the moment.’”

Despite the hot water this situation has put Kanye in, his mission to defend her honor has not gone unappreciated by Kim.

“Kim has been telling friends that she is so proud of Kanye, that he really stood up for her when she needed it,” says a Kardashian insider. “Kim loves that her man is protecting her. Unlike Kris Humphries, whom she never felt had her back, Kim is telling people that Kanye is a real man.”

Do you think Kanye went too far?
