Between stealing the spotlight from young pop stars to his endless rants about the media, Kanye West may not seem like the most tender hearted guy, but a recent confession revealed that he may be softer than he’s letting on.

The rapper, who’s proven himself to be a doting dad to daughter North, admitted during a recent concert that his only regret in life isn’t about business, money, or music, it’s about something even his $100 million can’t buy.

“There’s been some ups and downs. I made some mistakes and I’ve made some accomplishments. There’s only one thing I regret,” Kanye admitted during a concert in Connecticut on February 21.

“There’s only one thing I wish I could change out of everything that’s ever happened,” he said. “I wish that my mother could’ve met my daughter.”

While Kanye’s confession may seem like departure from his usual persona, it seems that the rapper’s mother, Dr. Donda West, who passed away during breast reduction and tummy tuck surgery in 2007, has always been an emotional subject for the star.

“Since my mom passed it’s been very difficult and hard to find love,” Kanye revealed during his interview with Kris Jenner earlier this year. “After I lost my mother, there were times I felt like I would put my life at risk. I felt like sometimes I didn’t have something to live for, and now I have two really special people to live for, a whole family to live for, a whole world to live for.”
