UPDATE (7/6/2014): Did Kanye West really receive a ton of boos this weekend during his show at a London festival? Not so fast, says his team.
A member of Kanye's entourage tells Us Weekly that the majority of his fans were actually very respectful during his show. "The audience immediately went crazy once the music resumed," adds a source. Hmmm. You can watch the video below and decide for yourself.
Original story (7/5/2014): Kanye West is presumably getting used to being booed at music festivals. Last month, Kim Kardashian's husband received boos at Bonnaroo, and now he has gotten booed this weekend at a music festival in London after he launched a 20-minute rant about, well, how great he is.
Kanye was onstage at the Wireless Festival in London on July 4, where he told the crowd that he is tired of being misunderstood. "They taking the idea of celebrity and make me seem like I was stupid or something!" Kanye told the crowd about his haters. "I just want to be awesome and hang around my awesome friends and change the world!"
Kanye gave his speech while wearing a jewel-encrusted mask covering his face. "F—k saving face and what it's supposed to mean, it's about living my dream," he added. Radar Online provided the video below of the concert.
A source tells the Daily Mail that not only did fans boo but many fans also left his show during the tirade. "He was laying into the 'machine' and ranting about the public's perception of him," says a source. "Hundreds of people left the park early because they were so bored of his long rant."
Do you think Kanye was right to say what he did, or did he go too far?
