FURTHER UPDATE: The official Kanye-approved version of the video is now available. Prepare yourself.
UPDATE: Kanye West's video "Black Skinhead" is no longer available at the site linked at below (or at most other places, you'll find). Maybe Kanye's request for the internet to do away with the leaked version did actually get through. Maybe.
Yeezy took to Twitter earlier today to tell the world the video leaked yesterday is “not the official version.” We had a feeling this might be the case; the clip didn’t have the polish you’d expect from the notorious perfectionist.
“Me and Nick Knight have been working on this video for 5 months and for creatives it’s heartbreaking when something like this happens,” Kanye wrote, referring to British photographer Nick Knight. That’s the same creative who earlier this year shot the controversial L’Officiel Hommes cover showing an, um, excited Kim Kardashian.
The final version of the “Black Skinhead” video will be ready within the next week, Kanye added before asking any website that may have the “unapproved / unfinished ruff” to “please take it down” and “allow me and Nick to give the world what we’ve been losing sleep over.” That’s a nice goal, but we’re not sure if the interwebs will listen, even to a rap superstar.
Before ending his atypically long Twitter convo, Kanye had a final message for the source of the leak: “FUK YOU!” Yeezy, out.
