The celebrity couple, who are likely already run ragged between filming Keeping Up With the Kardashians, promoting Yeezus, and taking care of 2-month-old baby North West, didn’t end up making it to Kylie Jenner’s birthday bash along with the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner family because they were in Oklahoma, attending the funeral for Kanye’s grandfather, Portwood Williams Sr., who passed away on August 10 at age 98.

Kim, Kanye, and Lamar Odom had all missed out on the low-key birthday dinner Kylie celebrated with friends, family, and rumored boyfriend Jaden Smith at Nobu in Malibu the week before, with the new baby, work commitments, and alleged infidelities keeping them from the party. Despite her absence, Kim used the missed party as an opportunity to make her post-baby return to social media, wishing Kylie a happy birthday via Twitter.
