Kim Kardashian has finally allowed the world to glimpse the rare beauty that is North West (or at least her baby carrier), but is the new mom doing more harm than good in an attempt to keep prying eyes from getting a peek at her bundle of joy?
In the two times Kim has been spotted out with baby North — once at a doctor’s appointment with Kanye and a nanny in California and, more recently, at the Oklahoma City funeral for Kanye's grandfather, Portwood Williams Sr. — the baby has been bundled up, despite the soaring summer temperatures.
With babies and young children being especially vulnerable to heat stroke, some critics claim that Kim is going too far to keep North from view.
“I fully respect Kim Kardashian’s efforts to protect her child’s privacy, however, it’s always important not to lose sight of heat safety,” Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services medical director Doctor Charles Sophy informed RadarOnline. “Similar to a child left in a vehicle with its windows closed, blankets fully covering a child leads to minimal ventilation. And temperatures can rise past the outdoor temperature very quickly, posing a health risk for children who tend to have a lower tolerance for heat compared with adults.”
When North is finally unveiled to the public, however, fans can expect to see a familiar face.
“She’s got a head full of hair and a beautiful olive skin tone,” revealed an onlooker at Portwood’s funeral. “She looks like Mason did when he was a baby. They even have the same eyebrows!”
Do you think Kim is being too overprotective?
