Lamar Odom is turning to an old Kardashian family friend to help him with his recent DUI situation. Clearly, it's time to bring in the big guns.
As he and wife Khloe Kardashian continue to deal with turmoil in their relationship, Lamar has reportedly hired former O.J. Simpson lawyer Robert Shapiro to represent him in his DUI case, according to TMZ.
Robert Shapiro and the Kardashian family go way back. He and Kris Jenner's ex-husband, the late Robert Kardashian, both defended O.J. in his murder trial in the mid-'90s.
TMZ reports that it's likely Robert Shapiro — who is apparently known for plea bargaining — will want Lamar to plead no contest to one count of DUI in order to get probation. Lamar was pulled over early Friday morning on suspicion of DUI. No matter what, his license has been suspended for a year, since Lamar refused a sobriety test. Police reportedly believe he was under the influence of both drugs and alcohol.
It seems likely that Kris herself was the one responsible for getting Robert Shapiro to represent Lamar. She apparently has used the attorney for other legal issues in the past, including her son Rob's criminal battery and theft case.
Meanwhile, Lamar's personal life is in shambles at the moment as well, with Khloe kicking him out of their house over the weekend until he can get himself clean. We're wishing the best for Khloe and Lamar.
Maybe Robert Shapiro will help Lamar to search for the real drunk driver?
