After a year filled with nothing but divorce drama, Kris Humphries is finally ready to put the past behind him — while simultaneously poking fun at it.
The Boston Celtics forward joined the cast as part of the “Getting Over It” gang alongside the show’s other single men, Danny (Chris Messina) and Tom (Bill Hader).
"Just because we don't have wives doesn't mean we don't have lives," the trio chants during a support group meeting at a gym. "Single and cool, single and cool, single and cool, yes!"
So did the basketball star fit in with the Fox comedy’s crew of actors and comedians?
"You're always nervous where people are really talented and you don't do this really, but as time went on, just being out there and messing around with the guys…I loosened up a little bit and ended up having a good time," Kris told the cameras backstage. “It was cool. We all had basketball in common.”
One thing’s for sure: Kris certainly impressed the show’s creator and star, Mindy Kaling.
“The fact that Kris Humphries heard what that premise was and knew that we wanted him to play himself in it was so funny and he was so nice about it. And his chemistry with Bill Hader is so great,” Mindy gushed to MTV News. "I think he came out kind of unscathed from that whole thing [the Kardashian relationship], and then if you see him on the show, you're like, 'This is the coolest dude ever.' Also extremely handsome and great at basketball, so those are his other great qualities.”
