After months of speculation about a looming split, Khloe Kardashian has officially filed for divorce from Lamar Odom after more than four years of marriage. The couple had a whirlwind romance leading up to their 2009 wedding, but they still made sure to preserve their individual assets. With an airtight prenuptial agreement, finalizing the divorce should be a breeze (given things don’t go all sideways, Kris Humphries style). So, who gets what according to the prenup?
Well, Radar Online’s insider claims Khloe will receive the couple’s Tarzana home, worth $4 million. The reality star reportedly put the house on the market last month, but without knowing whether the couple purchased the home with their combined assets, we can’t say for certain if Khloe will have to split the proceeds of a future sale.
Other than the home, Khloe is entitled to keep the ring Lamar gave her, a 12.5-carat stunner reportedly worth over $1 million, as well as any gifts he bestowed while he was still her Lammy. Khloe is also entitled to $500,000 for each year of their marriage and will also remain beneficiary to a $10 million life insurance policy if, Radar’s source is to be believed.
Since TMZ asserts that Khloe has refused spousal support and requested the judge deny support to Lamar, it seems like these two will, for the most part, be leaving the marriage with their individual fortunes largely intact. Khloe is worth a respectable $18 million, while Lamar’s estimated wealth amounts to as much as $100 million.
That said, given Lamar’s near the end of a rather tumultuous NBA career, he’s approaching the tail-end of his earning potential. Meanwhile, Khloe continues to carry on the savvy businesswoman tradition her mom Kris and older sister Kim began and will likely only see her fortune grow over the next few years. In a nutshell? Our girl will be juuuust fiiiine.
