Fans at Bret Michaels’s Machester, New Hampshire concert last night witnessed something a little scary last night when the show they’d come to see came to an abrupt stop. Three songs in, Bret rushed off the stage, leaving guitarist Pete Evick to pick up where he left off.

As it turns out, Bret was experiencing the effects of dangerously low blood pressure, and paramedics quickly came to his aid.

“In the 9 years I’ve stood next to him, I’ve never seen a look like the one on his face as if I was a complete stranger,” Pete wrote on Bret’s Facebook late Thursday night. “One of the crew returned instantly to notify me that Bret’s blood sugar was extremely low.”

According to NBC News, the former Poison rocker has struggled with Type 1 Diabetes since childhood. He also experienced a similar (but less severe) incident while filming his reality show, Rock of Love.

“He returned to the stage only to announce that he could not continue,” Pete continued. “As you all know he is a health fanatic and fiercely monitors his blood sugar, he basically had to be dragged off the stage in his sickest of conditions. When I rushed to the bus he could barely speak, but begged me to apologize to the fans and seemed only concerned for them.”

Later, Bret’s team returned to Facebook to thank paramedics for their help, and hopefully, Bret is on his way to a speedy recovery. Feel better soon!
