Rob Kardashian sounded fed up when he went on record last winter, saying he was ready to turn over a new leaf and start losing weight.


“Man I gained wayyyyyyyyy too much weight. I'm at 220 right now!” Rob tweeted last December. “Time to be a beast! Healthy food and loads of cardio starts mañana. Fat boy!”

 

But, like so many New Year’s resolutions, it seems like Rob’s didn’t exactly take. He just told US Weekly that he’s up to 235 pounds now. But never fear, he also shared his weight loss plan, and he sounds serious!

 

“I lost 5 to 7 [pounds] last week. I'm trying to lose 40," he shared. "It's a little journey, but it's good.”

 

Rob also said he's aiming to reach his 40 pound goal by July 4.

 

Forty pounds in four months? That’s pretty ambitious! That puts Rob at a loss of about 2.5 pounds a week, which is slightly higher than the standard weight loss wisdom of 1-2 pounds a week, but not out of the realm of possibility.

 

How is Rob planning to make this happen? With the help of a low-carb diet, two workouts a day and some very good friends.  

 

Rob says he and his friends will hit up L.A.’s Runyon Canyon for a hike to get their heart rates pumping, and that’s after he’s worked out with his trainer at 8am!

 

He’s also getting support from Cheryl Burke, his partner on the 13th season of Dancing With The Stars. "We've started running and doing our own little workout," Rob said. "It's good."

 

We’re pretty impressed with Rob’s motivation, and now that we know that he blames his weight gain on a soured relationship with British pop singer Rita Ora, we can see why he’s so eager to shed the pounds.
