Jon Hamm is sticking to his guns after making controversial comments about celebutante Kim Kardashian. Although she accused him of being “careless” with his remarks about her supposed “stupidity,” the Mad Men star disagrees. “I think they were accurate,” he told TODAY.
"It's a part of our culture that I certainly don't identify with,” said Jon of the reality TV craze. “I don't really understand the appeal of it other than in a sort of car crash sensibility, and it's not something that I partake in or enjoy, but it is what it is, and here we are."
Luckily for the actor, he had backup. Co-star Vincent Kartheiser agreed with Jon, adding, “I think our society enjoys to turn on the television and see someone who's maybe awful and they can say, 'Maybe I'm not as terrible as that person.'"
Who knew that the cast was so anti-reality TV? They might be a little embarrassed to learn that the many series in the Kardashian franchise tend to score more viewers than Mad Men does. Burn!
