We know Kim Kardashian knows how to spend money. She buys Balenciaga bags for infants! But for her, that kind of money is just a drop in the bucket. E! recently revealed that Ms. Kardashian rakes in a whopping $5.45 million a year. According to The Daily Beast, which dubbed her the highest-earning reality TV star, Kim took in $6 million in 2010. And that, they point out, is a conservative estimate.
Let's break it down.
The über-driven reality queen makes an estimated $40,000 per episode of the Kardashian spin-offs. She has a perfume deal, a clothing line, modeling deals, a workout DVD series, a jewelry line, a clothing line, a pre-paid credit card endorsement, a tanning product, and even an iPhone avatar. On top of all that, she gets paid a ton of money just to show up places. For example, she was reportedly paid $500,000 for a 45-minute appearance in Nigeria last week.
According to the Daily Mail, Ms. Kardashian makes over $10,000 per tweet. When she tweets three times in a day, she rakes in just under the average annual U.S. salary of $31,410.
As if that's not enough, Kim even makes her friends pay to be in her presence. Gawker revealed that she charged guests between $1,000 and $2,500 to attend her birthday party on October 22, 2010, at Amnesia NYC. (Now that's ballsy — and kinda brilliant.)
Her late father Robert Kardasian's estate, which has been estimated to be worth as much as $100 million, was left to his four kids.
The reality star even figured out how to cash in on her nuptials. The reality star took in $18 million for her August 20, 2011 marriage to NBA player Kris Humphries, which was made by selling the exclusive rights to her wedding photos to People, a four-hour TV special on E!, and exclusive rights to her bridal shower to OK Magazine. The union sadly lasted only 72 days, but Kim still got her payday.
Since her infamous marriage, she and her family nabbed $30 million for three more seasons of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and has successfully launched her own fragrance and a clothing line with her sisters.
Kim’s current net worth is estimated at around $35 million, and Forbes reports that as of May 2012 she had raked in $18 million.
No matter what, you can be sure there's much more ka-ching in her future. "I'm just getting started," she told Forbes's Jenna Goudreau. "I have a lot more work to do." Go to it, girl!
