A new investigation focusing on the charity started by NBA player and Khloe Kardashian's husband, Lamar Odom, is underway and it doesn't look great for the couple who is already shouldering more than their fair share of scrutiny.
During a period when their marriage is being questioned, this couldn't have been more mistimed.
According to a report by Zap2It, the charity, Cathy's Kids was started by Lamar in honor of his mother who passed away from colon cancer when he was only 12 years old. Khloe's website explains that "Cathy's Kids focuses on improving the lives of underprivileged children by providing them with the resources necessary for a successful future, such as books, computers, recreational opportunities and mentoring and tutoring services."
According to tax filings, the charity also exists to "generate funds for research, care, and clinics for cancer, as well as promote education and awareness about cancer - especially for minorities."
The problem, however, is that not one penny of the $2.2M raised has gone to cancer research. Instead, at least $1.3M of it has gone towards financing two elite youth basketball travel teams.
When reached for comment, Lamar didn't want to answer questions about the charity. Regardless of whether he wants to comment or not, the questions will no doubt continue coming.
