Kim Kardashian and her not-quite-ex-husband, Kris Humphries, were only married for 72 days, but their divorce proceedings aren’t turning out to be quite as speedy. While Kim filed for divorce back in October of 2011, it was announced in a status hearing today that Team Humphries won’t be ready to take the case to trial until at least late November 2012.

So what’s the holdup? According to a source who spoke to Radar Online, Kris is intent on proving he was duped into the marriage and would like to make his case with a “very public trial.” To prove that the marriage was a sham (as Kris has claimed), the basketballer’s legal team has reportedly deposed a whopping 33 witnesses, including Kim’s mom, Kris Jenner, and new beau, Kanye West.

Apparently, neither Kim’s mom nor Kanye have been easy to get in contact with. “I don’t want to use the word uncooperative, but they are not making the process easier,” Marshall Waller, Kris’s lawyer, told the judge during the hearing.

To ensure compliance, Kris’s legal team even went so far as to have a messenger leave a mysterious package on Kim’s doorstep intended for “Mr. West.” Inside the box was a deposition request for the rapper, compelling him to show up in court and spill the dirty details of his relationship with the reality starlet, E! Online reports.

For Kim and her lawyer, Laura Wasser, the entire process has been one giant headache.

“To say I am frustrated is an understatement,” Laura told the judge, explaining that her team has been more than responsive to Kris’s many demands, including flying to Minnesota for a deposition. “It’s expensive. And I’m at a loss to figure out what the holdup is... We are going to ask for every cent of those fees back...”

But for Kim, hurrying up this divorce might have less to do with money and more to do with what’s currently going on in her personal life.

"Kim has told her lawyer that the case is dragging because Kris is determined to keep his name in the press and drag her name through the mud,” a source told Radar. “Kim is ready to get engaged to Kanye but doesn't want to until her divorce is finalized. Kim feels that Kanye is the man she is going to spend the rest of her life with, and she doesn't want to wait.”
