A couple of well-intentioned tweets seem to have gotten Kim Kardashian in some hot water with fans.

The reality starlet took to Twitter earlier this morning to express her thoughts on the Israeli deaths caused by a rocket launched at Jerusalem by Hamas militants.

Kim tweeted, “Praying for everyone in Israel,” followed later by another tweet saying, “Praying for everyone in Palestine and across the world!”

Suffice to say, the reaction from a number of followers was less than flattering (with some death threats thrown in), and she ended up deleting both messages.

“Stick to making sextapes and leave the politics to the people with more than one braincell,” read one response by a user named Haseeb.

“Coming from someone whose own people faced genocide... You are disgusting,” tweeted another user named Mitty, making reference to Kim’s Armenian heritage.

Some even lambasted her for deleting the tweets altogether.

“Grow a pair, Kim,” wrote a user named Jedediah Bila.

Despite all the flack over her comments, Kim did receive a bit of support for her celebrity friends.

“@KimKardashian, there is no need to apologize. ur intention to promote love to ur 16m followers is much appreciated,” wrote Russell Simmons.

By the afternoon, Kim attempted some damage control by posting an apology to her blog.

“I decided to take down the tweets because I realized that some people were offended and hurt by what I said, and for that I apologize,” she wrote. “The fact is that regardless of religion and political beliefs, there are countless innocent people involved who didn’t choose this, and I pray for all of them and also for a resolution.”

Nice save, Kim.
