Kim Kardashian may have been flour-bombed by a woman with PETA ties for wearing fur, but she’s not about to hang her many minks out to dry.
On TODAY this morning, the reality princess told anchor Ann Curry all about the bizarre attack she suffered on the red carpet on March 22. A woman — who was identified as PETA sympathizer Christina Cho — allegedly threw flour all over the fur-obsessed celebutante, and although Kim laughed it off at the time, she later decided to press charges. Now Kim’s speaking out about the incident, saying she thinks her assailant’s actions were very hypocritical.
“It’s just a little odd to me that their whole message is non-violence towards animals yet they’re being violent towards humans,” Kim said. “I don’t think that assaulting someone is appropriate at all [...] We cautiously don’t carry fur in our DASH stores anymore and I don’t carry real fur in my QVC line or my Sears line.”
But the socialite added that the public shouldn’t expect her to stop showing up on red carpets (or, you know, at the airport) donning fur if she wants to. Kim pointed out that some of her furs were handed down from her great-grandmother and she’s certainly not throwing those out.
“I believe everyone has the choice of what they want [...] It’s not illegal to buy fur,” she explained. “I think it’s a personal choice, but I don’t think it’s okay to assault anyone.”
