Kim Kardashian’s divorce from Kris Humphries has already turned out to be plenty dramatic, and the official trial still won’t begin until early this May! New evidence appear to be helping Kris’s case, but now TMZ says that it might actually backfire on him.
In Touch Weekly and Life & Style both obtained court documents that paint Kim in a not-so-flattering light. In order to get his marriage to Kim annulled, Kris is seeking to prove that his marriage was a fraud, and that Kim orchestrated the whole thing.
At first, the new court documents seem to do just that — until you take a closer look. The deposition testimony is from a Keeping Up With The Kardashians producer named Russell Jay. It reveals numerous instances where scenes of Kim and Kris’s relationship were scripted, and the end result always makes Kris look bad!
There’s just one problem with this seemingly pro-Kris evidence. TMZ reports that it actually could destroy his entire case.
Kris needs to prove that Kim fraudulently induced him to marry her, yet Russell’s testimony reveals that Kim wasn’t expecting Kris’s proposal. Russell testified that Kim was unhappy with how her reaction to the surprise proposal looked on film, and she requested that the scene be reshot.
So if Kim wasn’t expecting Kris’ proposal right then, is that proof that she didn’t con Kris into proposing to her? Her lawyers just might make that argument.
In addition, TMZ says that if Kris was aware that Kim wanted to re-shoot her reaction, then he was in on the whole thing. What do you think: Is this new evidence going to help Kris win his case — or is it actually going to end up backfiring?
