Kim Kardashian has been called a lot of things, but she won’t stand for being labeled cold-hearted.

In a blog post today, the reality starlet hit back at news outlets that accused her of comparing her divorce from estranged husband Kris Humphries with a cancer-stricken fan’s struggles in an interview with The Guardian.

In the article, the interviewer wonders whether the pressures of living a reality star life drives Kim to create drama, such as her quickie marriage and divorce. Kim says, "Not really. We had done filming our season at that point, so we decided to film for the wedding. And that was a decision that he and I made together. But I think that, with any decisions in life, like, I spoke to a girl today who had cancer and we were talking about how this is such a hard thing for her, but it taught her a big lesson on who her friends are and so much about life. She's 18. And I was like, that's how I feel."

In her blog post, Kim explained that she was simply attempting to find common ground with the woman she was speaking with.

“In no way was I comparing my own experiences to that of a cancer patient,” she wrote. “I was merely talking about how there are times in your life, and everyone goes through them, when you find out who loves you enough to stand by you through thick and thin.”

She reminded readers that her own father, Robert Kardashian Sr., succumbed to the disease, and that her grandmother is a cancer survivor.

“What I said in the interview was misconstrued and I wanted to explain to you all what the context was around my phone call with this girl,” wrote Kim.

We’re glad she felt compelled to set the record straight!
