Did the Kardashian family miss out on a potentially huge baby-news payday because a certain rapper spilled the beans ahead of schedule?

Kris Jenner apparently thinks that the family could have made upwards of half a million dollars if they'd sold the story of Kim's pregnancy to a gossip mag, according to NY Daily News. Instead, Kanye West revealed the bun in the oven by referring to Kim as "my baby mama" at a concert on December 30.

“Sometimes the baby announcement sells more than the baby pics,” an insider reveals. “Kris runs that family like a machine. She wanted the control over when and where they make their money."

And Kris isn't the only one who's said to be miffed about Kanye's reveal. Us Weekly's newest issue hits stands today with Kourtney — not Kim! — on the cover, as the mag had no idea about Kim's pregnancy last Sunday when they finalized the issue. Instead, this week's cover is devoted to Kourtney's recent weight loss.

Us Weekly had reportedly shelled out $200K to Kourtney for a two-week exclusive contract with her, and the magazine's editors are said to be less than thrilled that the family didn't tell them about the baby news.

"Us paid for the Kardashian exclusive; they are livid now. After all the press they’ve given the girls, they’re furious,” continues the source.

"They’ve given the family millions over the years for exclusives; they expected at least the first tip."

Who knew that something as joyous as a baby announcement could create so much conflict?
