Kris Humphries Returns to Madison Square Garden With the New Jersey Nets on Dec. 21, 2011

Ever wonder what it's like to be booed by 20,000 people? Just ask Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian's soon-to-be ex-husband.

The 26-year-old pro basketball player returned to Madison Square Garden Wednesday night after re-signing a one-year, $8 million contract with the New Jersey Nets, but he wasn't welcomed with open arms.

The crowd began booing and heckling Humphries the second he entered the arena.

According to MSG announcer Al Trautwig, it was not just a "smattering of boos" — it was a "villain in the Garden" kind of booing.

Us Magazine reports that the crowd actually began chanting the name of Kim's former NFL boyfriend, Reggie Bush.

"[Kris has] now become the most hated man in the NBA," said MSG commentator Kelly Tripucka.

Although he failed to score, Humphries, who averaged 10 points last season, insists the haters haven't gotten to him. "I don't know … I felt like Rudy out there … I was so focused on the game, I couldn't hear that," he told ESPN.

Needless to say, the Nets lost.
