Kris Humphries to Make a Cancer Patient’s Dream Come True

NBA star Kris Humphries’ reportedly came away from his 72-day marriage to Kim Kardashian with a bruised ego, so we’re glad to see the guy getting a little fan love. One 16-year-old Humphries supporter admires the New Jersey Net so much that she and her friends started a Twitter campaign to get him to attend a cancer benefit for her in May.

New Yorker Kaely Kwitek, who is battling stage 4 anaplastic large-cell lymphoma, created an account (@Kris4Kaely) specifically in hopes of grabbing the 27-year-old basketball player’s attention. Not only did she succeed, she’s getting even more than she bargained for out of the deal: Kris invited Kaely and her family to a Nets game on April 23 as his guests of honor. They’ll all meet after the game, and he’s offered to foot the bill for all of their expenses.

Kris dished to TMZ that he’s ecstatic to be making her dream come true. "I'm truly honored that someone with much larger things on their plate feels that my involvement in their cause is important. Not many of us can be as strong as she has been. I hope that many more will join me and support Team Kaely."

No word yet on whether he’ll attend the May benefit, but Kris has continued to support Kaely with various tweets, so we’ve got our fingers crossed!

In the meantime, that should get his mind  — and the press — off his bitter divorce.
