Lamar Odom’s relationship with his former team the Dallas Mavericks may have just got a little more contentious. ESPN reports that the team has voted not to include Lamar in its share of playoff money.
Unlike the rest of the players on the Mavericks, Lamar won’t take home an extra $14,000 for the team making the playoffs. The defending NBA champions were swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of this season’s playoffs.
Lamar had a disappointing run with the Mavs before he parted ways with the team in April. Sports analysts point to Lamar’s reported lack of effort during (and sometimes complete absence from) team practices as the ultimate reason for the financial snub.
For whatever reason things didn’t work out in Dallas, rumor has it that Lamar is stepping up his game now that he’s back to his old stomping grounds in Los Angeles. And if things in L.A. don’t work out, there’s always the Olympics!
