A world without Kim Kardashian on our TVs and her products in our closets? We can’t bear the thought, but it seems that’s exactly what over a quarter of a million people want. According to the New York Daily News, 277,500 people have signeld the BoycottKim petition, close to its short-term goal of 350,000 signatures. The petition calls for support of its mission to make the “money-grubbing” Kim go away and asks signers to boycott “all products sold and marketed” by the reality star, which includes her television shows.

Name-calling aside, Sears is reportedly “closely monitoring” the petition’s signature collecting. A petition co-founder, who wishes to remain anonymous, tells New York Daily News that they’re hoping to hit 500,000 signatures, adding that’s the kind of “serious number” that would make Kardashian partners like Sears reconsider doing business with the family.

But the boycott numbers pale in comparison to the number of viewers who are tuning in each week to watch Kourtney & Kim Take New York, which has been posting higher ratings in Season 2, post-Kim Kardashian/Kris Humphries divorce news, than it did in Season 1. This week’s episode pulled in 2.8 million viewers.

If that’s not a testament to the staying power of Kim and the Kardashian family, we don’t know what is! Well, that and the fact E! is looking to add four Kardashian spinoff shows starting as early as next year.
