Pregnant Kim Kardashian knows how to make a fashion statement, that’s for sure. Whether the statement is good or bad, however, is somewhat up to interpretation. Take, for example, Kim’s floral Givenchy dress, which she wore for the May 6 Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
It’s a look... we suppose. Kim’s bold flower-print gown has full-length sleeves that morph seamlessly into gloves. Combined with the high neckline, it looks to us almost like Kim had a Laura Ashley bedspread transformed into a form-fitting Snuggie (emphasis on the snug), were it not for that Jolie-esque slit in the skirt.
Did we mention the shoes match? Cuz they do.
We certainly expected some more unconventional looks on the red carpet at this year’s gala, especially given the theme of the exhibit — PUNK: Chaos to Couture. However, Kim’s rose-printed glove gown doesn’t seem particularly punk-inspired.
That said, the silhouette is more elegant than some of Kim’s past outfits, and at least you can’t see her underwear (or lack thereof). What do you think? Is Kim’s Met Gala gown a bed of roses, or total stinker?
