Ouch! Reality star Kim Kardashian was spotted on July 19 with, well, spots – which resembled bug bites – “covering” her legs, according to Life & Style.

But Kim wasn’t attacked by killer mosquitoes, the celebutante actually suffers from a skin condition called psoriasis which can cause flaky, dry patches of skin.

"I'd heard of it before because my mom has always had it, but she didn't have red flaky dots all over her," Kim told Life & Style.

Unfortch, the pesky problem runs in the family. Momager Kris Jenner was even diagnosed at 30, just like Kim.  "There's a large genetic component," says Dr. Jordana S. Gilman, assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC.

For the average Jane, the diagnosis wouldn’t be a big deal. But Kim, who makes a living showing off her bod, is distressed about the diagnosis. "People don't understand the pressure on me to look perfect," she says. "When I gain a pound, it's in the headlines, so imagine what the tabloids will do to me when they see all these spots."

While we don’t think Kim is immune to some tabloid talk over her spotted bod, Dr. Gilman told Life & Style  the newly-engaged starlet has several choices of ways to keep her condition under control. “There are many treatment options, ranging from creams to pills to injectable medications," she says. "If managed properly, it can be kept under control and she can lead a perfectly normal life."
