When Amber Rose was awaiting the arrival of her son Sebastian, she had a plan. The model-slash-new mom was dead set on giving birth at home, with midwives, a doula and fiance Wiz Khalifa. So why did she end up delivering via C-section?

"I found out really, really late that my son was breech," Amber recently told talk show host Ricki Lake. "It was almost 38 weeks into my pregnancy, so I had to just switch. My ideal birth plan was just down the drain."

Amber, who’d been inspired to have a home birth by Lake’s documentary The Business of Being Born, learned her baby was breech when one of her midwives told her the lump up near her ribs was her son’s head. The news, naturally, came as quite a shock.

"It literally took me the whole time to prepare for a water birth, [then] in an instant I was going to get my abdomen cut open and [have] major surgery," Amber explained. "And I've never had surgery before, so I was really really scared."

She tried everything she could think to try and get son Sebastian (aka Bash)’s head down before her due date: The herb mugwort, acupuncture, and something called inversion, “which is where you go to the hospital and they manually try to turn your baby -- like, they they push his head down and push his butt up. It hurt, a lot. It was very painful. I cried.”

But after all that Bash was still breech, and Amber had to give up her plan of a water birth, because delivering him safely was her top priority. She and Wiz welcomed Bash into the world on February 21, and from the adorable looks of things, these proud parents are just happy to have him here.
