On May 12, Team Adam Levine singer Kat Perkins gave a rousing performance of “Let It Go” by Demi Lovato. Thinking back to her humble beginnings in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Kat thought on growing up listening to country music and ultimately moving to Minneapolis, North Dakota where she broke free and found her rocker side.
Kat decided to sing the smash Disney tune from the animated flick Frozen for the children she nannied, who encouraged her to join The Voice, as well as introduced her to the music and it’s record-breaking soundtrack.
Blake Shelton told Kat that she’s reliable for creating climatic, powerful endings that he’ always anxious to hear, and as always, she did an excellent job. Usher told Kat that it was a complicated song to sing that’s liked by everyone from ages 2 to 80 and said she killed it. Shakira called “Let It Go” an unpredicted pick for Kat, but it ultimately showed off yet another side of her that was enjoyable.
Adam said that it doesn’t get vocally than Kat, and said that week-to-week, Kat has been persistent, soulful, beautiful, and deserving of her success.
