Kate Hudson Holds Wedding at Her Home — Did She Get Married?

Kate Hudson had a wedding! She just wasn’t the bride. Rather, the 34-year-old actress, who is engaged to Muse singer Matthew Bellamy, played hostess on November 9 when Muse media manager Thomas Kirk and fiancée Jaclyn Ferber tied the knot at her Pacific Palisades home.

The candlelit ceremony took place in Kate’s front yard and featured an ivy-covered altar and a white wood plank covered with fall leaves, according to an Us Weekly report. Afterward, guests moved to the backyard for cocktails and dinner served on rustic wooden farm tables. Keeping with the laidback theme, the reception also featured a tent filled with pillows and blankets, which a source referred to as the “Teepee Lounge.”

Despite hosting the nuptials at her home, Kate doesn’t seem in a particular rush to head down the aisle herself. She and Matt have been engaged for more than two years, a little too long for her 9-year-old son Ryder.

“I think he looks forward to more the party than actually the idea of us getting married,” Kate explained to TV host Ellen DeGeneres last month. “He seems to, like, have it really planned out what he's wearing." How funny. So have we!

The November 9 wedding isn’t the first time Kate has opened her home for a friend recently. Earlier this year, the Hollywood A-lister invited Glee co-star Lea Michele to stay for a much more somber reason: after the death of her boyfriend, Cory Monteith, from a heroin overdose, Lea needed a place to escape the world’s prying eyes.

Whether the occasion be happy or sad, Kate looks to be a friend you’d want in a pinch.
